The Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library Computer Lab announces that registration has begun for fall 2012 classes.
Thanks to grants from the Genuardi’s Employees Caring Fund and the McLean Contributionship, the lab will be equipped with new computers featuring Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 10 when classes begin.
Two distinct types of courses are offered.
Welcome to the Web is a 3 week course for the beginning computer user which concentrates on Internet browsing, searching and e-mail.

Daytime classes meet on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m., last for two hours and begin Sept. 12. Evening classes are held on Thursdays at 6 p.m. and begin Oct. 18.
The cost for the course is $15.
The Productivity Track of courses begins with a five-week course in Computer Essentials, which serves as a prerequisite for the more advanced courses of Word and Excel.
The Computer Essentials course teaches Internet browsing and email but also includes instruction on effective file management. Additional details follow.
The course costs $25. Daytime classes are held on Fridays at 10:30 a.m., last for 2 hours and begin on Sept. 21.
Evening classes are held on Tuesdays at 6 p.m., last for 2 hours and begin on Sept. 18.
